Banish the idea of segregation through the difference in colour, creed or culture. Instead, revel in the diversity of our world.
Love Thy Neighbour. This is a simple sentence, but how many of us truly understand and practice this? Even if we do understand and do so, but to what degree? It’s time we learn a very valuable lesson from our very, very young children. The really young children who have yet to be influenced by caregivers and family members do not discriminate. They sense only the kindness in a person. It’s only when they grow older and begin to understand more, that the influence of the loved ones – unconsciously or otherwise – begins to mould and shape these young absorbent minds.

A wonderful piece by Mr Zubedy. And because of his belief in unity, I use the name Zubedy as a noun. Hence the question, “Did you zubedy today?” Did you lend a helping hand without even an unconscious thought of any kind of discrimination today? Did you promote and practice unity today?

It is not too late. It is NEVER too late to zubedy.

Footprints In The Sand

One night I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord.
Many scenes from my life flashed across the sky.
In each scene I noticed footprints in the sand.
Sometimes there were two sets of footprints,
other times there were one set of footprints.

This bothered me because I noticed
that during the low periods of my life,
when I was suffering from anguish, sorrow or defeat,
I could see only one set of footprints.

So I said to the Lord,
“You promised me Lord, that if I followed you,
you would walk with me always.
But I have noticed that during the most trying periods of my life
there have only been one set of footprints in the sand.
Why, when I needed you most,
you have not been there for me?”

The Lord replied, “The times when you have
seen only one set of footprints in the sand,
is when I carried you.”

slimy troll

a funny week

i’m having a funny week. funny as in weird.

a few days back i had the misfortune to encounter the slimiest of the slimy trolls. and i’m talking about the lowest of the low, scum of the deepest end of the earth, kind of troll.

“what happened?”, you ask?

well, there i was, happily replying to a comment on someone else’s blog, and suddenly i got walloped out of the blue for no apparent reason. the fella talk cock somemore. Eishhh! my blood rush upstairs, i tell you…!

i was about to give back nicely to the slimy troll, but as i was surfing on my hubby’s nokia, i thought i’ll wait til i’m back on my mac where my fingers can fly the insults off the keyboard faster. so what i did was i googled the fella. and the results were an eye-opener. it turns out that this psychopathic nutcase has nothing better to do than leave comments on other peoples’ blogs. and he’s been kicked out of websites because of it. the troll fella thrives on the response that his purposefully insulting comments generate. so basically if i were to have a ‘comment war’ with him, i’ll be fueling his fodder. no way man! i’m not gonna give him that satisfaction. i’m just gonna let it be… let it be… let it be…

but that doesn’t put out the frustration i feel… hence this post

all packed up

When I was young, I didn’t go to school in a schoolbus. I went to school in a car driven by this woman who lives up the road. She’s got a few kids of her own going to the same school, and for a fee, she would ferry some of us kids in the neighbourhood to school as well. Needless to say, to make more money she packed in as many kids as she could into the car. Sardines we were back then.

Now this woman has a infuriating love for story-telling time broadcasted on the radio. And this programme is broadcasted just before we have to leave for school. She always wants to listen to the whole show and everyday without fail, I’ll be late for class. Now that I look back at it, the whole issue probably affected my character molding years )

Alfred Jerome Ham…the dude angel

Alfred is a dude angel. That means he’s angel who is a dude. Yesh, angel, as in huge, white, fluttering wings… harps… and yesh, as in Heaven.

I’ve never met Alfred. I only know of him because my hubby went to chill out with Alfred for a lil while. He made such a big impact on hubby in those short minutes that he spent with hubby. Strong. Strength. This doesn’t conjure up a hulking, big man, rippling with muscles. Not in Alfred’s sense. Alfred had real strength. Inner strength. Courage is another word.

Alfred zoomed up the sky on 17 June 2008. A great loss.

Today is Alfred’s birthday. 15 August. Have a good one dude.

The Very First Post Should Be Pleasant
